Ahmed Fathy breaks his silence and reveals the value of Zamalek's offer before signing for Pyramids
The captain of Al-Ahly, who was recently transferred to Pyramids, Ahmed Fathy, nicknamed "the Joker", revealed the truth about the negotiations of Zamalek, which he asked the player to join before the official signing of Pyramids and to leave the walls of Al-Ahly.
Ahmed Fathy had officially ended his career with Al-Ahly on October 31 by crowning Al-Ahly with the league title, reaching the African Champions League final and he was the captain of the team, and the player joined the Pyramids team in a three-year contract.
Fathi said during his interview with the "Allaib" program on MBC, in the first appearance of the player after leaving Al-Ahly: “Zamalek tried to sign me when I was in Sheffield Club once, and after that Zamalek spoke to me once and told them that I could not do that because I could not. He is very attached to the club and with respect to Zamalek, that step is difficult for me, and the offer was very large, and it could be equal to what was offered to Abdullah Al-Saeed. ”
He continued: "The idea of playing in Zamalek was a little difficult, because if I left Al-Ahly and its large fans, the fans of the two teams would be angry with me, and this thing is unnecessary, and I have never bargained with the club with an offer of sums."
The player added: "I received an offer at the beginning of last season from Pyramids. They were ready to pay 25 million pounds and stick to Al-Ahly, especially because we were preparing to face Zamalek in the Egyptian Super and achieved the title at the time."
