The Egyptian newspaper Al-Watan quoted Faraskour goalkeeper Ahmed Salama as saying: “Coach Hafila died al-Farha and we completed the match for him .. Before the end of the first half of the match, we advanced with the first goal through Rami Basal’s way, then Mohamed Aweidah strengthened his team’s progress, scoring the second goal in the 37th minute. From the match, the players were overwhelmed with joy, and some went to the coach Hafila to embrace him in gratitude for his efforts and his work with the team, but that joy did not last for long. After a few moments, the coach fell on the ground unconscious, turning the stadium into a mass of silence.

Salama explained: "We did not know at the time that he was dead. We looked for the ambulance and did not find it. One of the players of the other team (the kindergarten) tried to wake him up by doing some first aid, but to no avail."

He concluded: "We carried him and drove him outside the stadium, and the police car carried him to Ras Al-Bar Hospital, after which the match referee Mohamed Adel offered to cancel the match and consider the team withdrawn, but we insisted on completing the meeting because of the captain."
