It was a happy Lucas Raymond who met SVT Sport in connection with Frölunda's training.

Then he had gotten some sleep after the night's draft success.

- I do not really think I have had time to digest it yet, it may come this afternoon.

It was very crowded last night with many things and when I woke up I went straight to training, says the 18-year-old, and continues:

- It still feels a bit tense but I am extremely happy and it was a great experience.

Today, all the guys have been happy for me so it feels fun.

"You get shocked"

The draft is usually held on site in North America, but due to the pandemic, this year's draft was carried out digitally.

Raymond was at home in Gothenburg and had to stay awake in the middle of the night.

- It was a little different.

You have dreamed of going up on stage when you are drafted.

The whole event.

But to experience this with the family in this way was also a lot of fun.

They have worked hard for this.

What was your first reaction when they read out your name?

- You are shocked.

There were many emotions at once.

You become extremely happy and proud.

Meets Brynäs tomorrow

How satisfied are you with being chosen as number four?

- Very happy, of course.

I'm happy to come to Detroit, an old club that's been around since the NHL started.

There are many Swedes who have had a cruel history in the club, so hopefully they like Swedes.

For Frölunda, it is now a matter of reloading before tomorrow's SHL match when Brynäs comes to visit.
