Blues striker Olivier Giroud exceeded the number of goals scored by Michel Platini for the France team, with his 41st and 42nd goals against Ukraine.

During this same first period, Eduardo Camavinga became the youngest goalscorer for the Habs since 1914.

It is a friendly match that we will remember despite everything: Wednesday evening, during the first period against Ukraine, two players from the France team wrote their names in the history books.

The first, Eduardo Camavinga, became at 17 years and 11 months the youngest striker of the Blues since 1914. 106 years ago, Maurice Gastiger, aged 17 years and 5 months, had scored a goal in his second selection against Switzerland.

"Great privilege"

The second is better known, and there is no doubt that his evening performance will be even more commented on than that of his younger brother from Stade Rennais.

By scoring his 41st and 42nd goals for the French team, Olivier Giroud officially exceeded the number of goals scored by Michel Platini for the French team.

"When I score my partners it is a great pleasure, but of course my goal is to equal him as quickly as possible. It would be a great privilege and a huge pride to be able to match the legend of French football", Chelsea striker explained this week.

Only Henry is still ahead

There remains in front of him only Thierry Henry, king of the 2000s. "Titi" scored the trifle of 51 goals in blue from 1997 to 2010, in 123 selections.

Olivier Giroud, who played his 100th selection on Wednesday evening at the age of 34, can still challenge him for the honorary title of top scorer in the history of the Blues.
