On Friday, a decision will be made by the International Ski Federation, Fis, regarding the fluoride ban.

There, Fis will decide to postpone the fluoride ban until next season due to the time aspect, according to Finnish election manager Martin Norrgård.

- The rumors came to us already last week.

And this takes a little air out of one.

Now we go back to box one.

We have had to plan based on a fluoride ban, and have been very careful in how we wallow and test new products.

And we have cleaned the walla booths completely clean of fluoride.

In part, it feels like we have done that work unnecessarily, says Martin Norrgård to SVT Sport.

However, Norrgård does not think there will be a shortage of fluoride.

- Now it is important to use the fluoride that is recovered.

Fortunately, we have not thrown away or destroyed the fluoride that is available.

And I do not hope that the manufacturers have gone too far in that process either.

But I think the old recipes are still there, so we do not have to go big and shop, he says.

How do you think Fis has dealt with this issue?

- Normally, you do not make a decision until you can ensure its success.

Here they would have needed to listen more to the expertise, and in that context it is the dikes and the manufacturers, says Martin Norrgård.

Agree with Sweden and Norway

Norrgård is fully in favor of banning fluoride after this season.

- Of course we will get away from that.

It is a harmful substance, especially for us on the long side.

We must be able to ensure the safety of our employees.

From an occupational health point of view, it is a very important thing, says Martin Norrgård.

Norrgård also believes that colleagues in Sweden and Norway are in the same line, and that it was important for the decision.

- I do not think we are very far apart, but are on the same line.

And I also think it has had an effect that we have discussed across borders with Norway and Sweden so that there will be no possibility of cheating.

Everything must be on equal terms.

- And as I talked to the Swedish ramparts, I can say with my hand on my heart, if we discover cheating, we will say so immediately.

We kill the sport immediately if there is a possibility of cheating.
