A new player in Liverpool tested positive for Corona virus

The Swiss Football Confederation announced today that Xherdan Shaqiri's test result for Covid-19 was positive, one day after the Liverpool player returned to his country's squad for the first time in more than one year.

Shaqiri became the third player to be infected with the Corona virus at Liverpool FC, after the English Premier League champion had previously announced that Senegalese Sadio Mane and Spaniard Thiago Alcantara had been infected with the Corona virus last week.

Shaqiri, who played his last match with Switzerland in the Nations League in June last year, arrived at the national team hotel yesterday, before playing a friendly match at home against Croatia tomorrow.
