Pre-favorite Johan Kristoffersson started well in the final just like Niclas Grönholm. Kristoffersson did take the lead, but shortly after the start Kristoffersson made a small mistake and Grönholm slipped past. Kristoffersson did not manage to get past and chose to take the joker on the third lap.
After the joker, Kristoffersson ate up the lead to the leading cars and seemed to be in a good position before the decision.
When Grönholm drove into the joker on the last lap, Kristoffersson had the chance to take the lead, but that did not happen. Instead, Grönholm slipped out just before Kristoffersson and in the last corner three cars drove together, Kristoffersson ended up a bit out of balance and Grönholm took home the victory.
- I kept calm and tried not to make any mistakes. There were some mistakes but they were not that big, says Grönholm.
For Kristoffersson, it ended up being a fourth place.
Despite missing the podium, Kristofersson leads the World Cup series with 111 points, 17 points ahead of Mattias Ekström.
Grönholm climbed to third place in the overall.
