- LaLiga.Pacheta's paradox: fired from Elche two days after being promoted to First
Elche CF has announced the hiring of Argentine Jorge Francisco Almirón as the new coach, who will have his first experience in Spanish football after a career that has led him to coach teams from his country, Mexico, Colombia and Saudi Arabia.
"From Elche CF we thank Jorge Almirón and his professional team who will accompany him in this new challenge and we wish him a great season full of successes in the return of the club to LaLiga Santander," the franjiverde club said in a statement.
Almirón arrives to replace Pacheta, who left the club after two and a half seasons in office in which he led the Second Division B team to First Division.
Born in Buenos Aires 49 years ago, Almirón developed almost his entire playing career in Mexico and made his debut as a coach 12 years ago at Dorados de Sinaloa . After going through clubs such as the Argentine Lanús or the Colombian Atlético Nacional , his last job was at the Saudi Al-Shabab.
"The born coach will be presented in Elche next week along with his work team, which will be made up of professionals who have accompanied him throughout his career, added to collaborators who have been working in our football," explained his new club.
