Perry Olsson left Sweden for the Norwegian national team in 2003, but after many successful years there a move back may now be relevant.

In that case, he would strengthen a Swedish whaling team that has been criticized at times over the past season.

- The Swedish Confederation is looking closely at who they are going to bring now. I know nothing at the moment. They would come back to me. I have talked twice with Fåhraeus (length manager Daniel, red note) I think. Just very short. He would come back closer, says Olsson.

Olsson's current contract expires last April and a few weeks ago he has an offer to extend with Norway.

- I intend to work for a few more years and, as it is now, I have nothing to say about Sweden. If I do not receive anything from Sweden, I will continue in Norway. I am not dissatisfied with it, although it may sound so. But I have said before that I was interested in Sweden.

How interested are you in the Swedish job?

- There's interest. Otherwise, I would have already accepted the current offer.

How long can you wait for Sweden?

- They have said that they should be ready this month. But it goes longer and I don't get anything from Sweden so I continue in Norway, he says.

Would you say the ball is with Fåhraeus and the League now?

- Yes, I would say that.

Daniel Fåhraeus, length manager, confirms that they are also interested in contracting Perry Olsson.

- We have been talked at three times about interest and that we should keep in touch. If and when it does, we do not know at present - but as I said, interest is from both sides.

Fåhraeus says it is an organizational issue and because of the corona pandemic it is also an economic issue. The aim is to have the whaling team ready by April 30, but it may take until the week after that.

The Express was the first to report that Olsson was up for a move to Sweden.
