“The ongoing corona pandemic means that Gothia Cup 2020 cannot be implemented. After consulting with the Public Health Authority and the information available from both Swedish and international expertise, the Gothia Cup has decided to cancel the tournament, for the first time since its inception in 1975, "writes the tournament and continues:
"We regret this and feel great sadness at not being welcomed to Gothenburg this summer but hope for an understanding of the situation and that all of us - players, leaders, judges, officials, cooperatives and partners - will be seen next year instead."
In the message, the cup also announces that all teams can choose to transfer the registration fee to next year's tournament or to get the money back.
