Defender of the Kazanka Professional Football League club Innokenty Samokhvalov died on Monday, April 20, at the age of 22. According to the official website of Lokomotiv (whose farm club is Kazanka), the athlete felt unwell during an individual training session on the street.
The tragedy happened in the city of Moscow, where Samokhvalov rented an apartment. Passers-by called an ambulance, but failed to save the player. Samokhvalov left his wife and son.
A preliminary cause of death is acute heart failure. This was stated by RIA Novosti “Kazanka” coach Alexander Grishin. At the same time, according to the “Championship”, the football player complained about his health the day before his death.

Samokhvalov was a pupil of railway workers. He entered the Lokomotiv Academy in the third grade, and in 2016 won the Russian championship with the youth team. He played for Kazanka from the season 2018/19.
“Kesha was a kind and helpful person, a good friend. FC Lokomotiv is shocked by what happened. This is a huge sorrow for our family. We express our condolences to the relatives and friends of Innocent, ”the statement on the red-green official website said.
The club also made it clear that they would provide the family of the deceased with all the necessary assistance. The Russian Football Union expressed condolences to Samokhvalov’s relatives.

According to the former mentor of the Kazanka, Denis Klyuyev, Samokhvalov had health problems. He was purposefully treated and took a special course. The specialist emphasized that his ex-ward eventually managed to get rid of the problems. Innocent had all the necessary documents for speaking at a professional level. Twice a year, the defender underwent an in-depth medical examination.
“Golden guy, kind, quiet. Only once did one manage to stir him up. Anger and aggression is not about Samokhvalov at all. And also a very smart guy. This is a shock for me. The former coach of Ivanovo Tekstilshchik Denis Boyarintsev, whose defender played in the 2018/19 season, emphasized that the team’s medical headquarters had no comments about the health of the football player.

“The guy had good data, and maybe these heart problems prevented him from reaching a high level ... If, after all, the doctors gave him access to training, it means it was some kind of limited clearance ... It didn’t last one year - three or four years ... He himself is to blame, because I heard that he wrote a receipt that he would deal at his own risk. Both his agents and the doctors who conduct medical control are to blame, ”concluded the specialist.

The partner of the deceased on Tekstilshchik, Sergei Orlov, on the contrary, could not recall any ailments of Samokhvalov. He also noted that the young player did not drink alcohol and did not smoke, but he respected the elders and always remained to work after training.
Innokenty himself in 2015 told about the Lokomotiv website about himself: “From the first class he played in his native city - in Mytishchi. He studied there at the local children's sports school, by the way, acting on the position of the left midfielder. And after that, Lokomotiv appeared in my life, in which I was already seen as a central defender. My brothers also started in other positions, but by the decision of the coaches they moved to the center of defense. I don’t know, maybe this has some kind of genetic connection. ”
Samokhvalov's height was 190 cm with a weight of 75 kg. Due to its size, it has traditionally threatened the gates of others with “standards”. For “Kazanka” Samokhvalov played under the 18th number. In the spring of 2019, the defender played for the main team of Loko in a friendly match with Ufa, and was included in the reserve for the games of the Russian Premier League.
