Yesterday, Expressen announced that several star riders were considering leaving the national team. The magazine also claimed that Mattias Nilsson and Fredrik Uusitalo would leave their roles as men's coach - tasks that SVT Sport also had.

The Swedish Ski Association has confirmed that both Nilsson and Uusitalo are leaving their assignments.

- The work as a national team coach is fantastic in many ways and fun, but at the same time it is very intense and special. There is a lot that should be at work and at home. After two years on the road, it is time to be home more, says Mattias Nilsson in a press release.

- I am grateful for the time we got with the national team, but now I want to be home with my children over the summer and autumn. I look forward to it very much now, ”says Uusitalo.

Their employment expires last April. It is unclear where the career is heading for the union.

"They have been very appreciated"

Long-time manager Daniel Fåhraeus is pleased with their efforts.

- The Swedish Ski Federation would like to thank Mattias and Fredrik, who have done a fantastic job in their roles as national team coach. They have been greatly appreciated by both riders and employees, Fåhraeus says.

The length manager focuses on hiring a new national team manager, hopefully in early April.
