The footballers of the MHSC decided to pay the salary supplement to the other employees of the club. Since March 16, all employees of the Montpellier football club have been subject to partial unemployment, due to the stoppage of the championships due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The measure affects players but also administrative staff. With part-time work, employees only receive 70% of their salary (a measure funded by the State up to 4.5 times the minimum wage). The footballers have decided to make up the remaining 30%, MHSC president Laurent Nicollin told France Football .

"It allows us to find a link between us"

“The players are one thing, but others do not win as much as they do. When you put switchboard operators, part-time workers, it is never an easy decision to make, said the president of the MHSC to the weekly. My players have offered to fill the shortfall of certain employees, this allows us to find a link between us ”.
