French justice has rejected requests by the lawyers of the president of Paris Saint-Germain and the director of the BN Sports media group, Qatari Nasser Al-Khulaifi, to drop the accusation of their client on suspicion of corruption, regarding his obtaining the rights to broadcast the 2016 and 2020 Olympics and the World Cup athletics for the years 2015, 2019 and 2021.

Judges who are responsible for investigating the case considered that the lawyers ’allegations were unfounded, after they indicated in their request that the crimes that were committed against Al-Khulaifi were not committed on French soil, according to L'Equipe newspaper.

The accusations against Nasser Al-Khulaifi are being investigated in many countries, after information emerged indicating that he paid commissions to the son of former International Athletics Federation president Min Dyck, who is awaiting trial in France.

And the Qatari businessman, who was charged by the Swiss Public Prosecution on 20 February last, has been formally accused of being involved in a suspicion of corruption on the grounds of obtaining the rights to broadcast the World Cup soccer between 2026 and 2030, a great shock and a painful blow with this decision.
