After the draw on Thursday, it is clear that Mikael Ymer will start against Marcelo T Barrios Vera, while Elias Ymer takes on Alejandro Tabilo in Friday's second singles match. The Chilean players are ranked around 200 in the world, as is Elias Ymer, while Mikael Ymer is in 67th place on the world rankings.

- We have a good team where everyone plays very well, so the draw does not matter, says Robin Söderling during Thursday's press conference before the match.

"Nervous before the match"

As previously reported, Chile comes to Sweden without their two best players. 18-star world star Cristian Garin is back injured and Nicolas Jarry, the country's second highest ranked player, is suspended due to doping. That could give Söderling a head start on his time as Swedish Davis Cup captain.

- It's a little nervous before the first match as captain. It means a lot to get a good result for the players, but also for us as a nation. A good result in the qualifying and then in the playoffs is crucial for Swedish tennis, he says.

On Saturday, doubles are played first, with Sweden competing with Robert Lindstedt and Markus Eriksson, against the Chilean couple Barrio Vera / Tabilo. Then the last two singles are played.

The match between Sweden and Chile is played in the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm, Friday and Saturday, and is one of twelve qualifiers for the playoffs to be decided in Madrid in November.
