AS Saint-Etienne has followed through on his threats. After announcing that it was considering the possibility of legal proceedings against Patrick Glanz, the agent of Stéphane Ruffier, after his declarations targeting Claude Puel, the club finally took action. According to L'Equipe , the Greens announced on Thursday that they had "broken the agent mandate concluded with Patrick Glanz" and claimed nearly 1.6 million euros from him.

When Ruffier was recruited and his successive contract extensions, Patrick Glanz, who cut the management of Puel on February 21, was appointed by Saint-Etienne and was not paid as an agent for the Saint-Etienne porter.

"We sent a notice to Patrick Glanz at the start of the week to signify that we are putting an end to the last mandate signed with him, which is still enforceable (...) We will not pay him the last fees he should have received" , said the lawyer for the Stéphane club Me Olivier Martin to AFP.

Greens claim 1.6 million euros

"We are asking him to reimburse all of the commissions paid to him when Stéphane Ruffier was recruited in 2011, and the three goalkeeper extensions that have been signed since, that is to say nearly 1.6 million euros, "added the lawyer. "Because he presents himself as the player's agent, we consider that the mandates signed with the club are void," assured Mr. Martin, who "at the same time seized the federal commission of sports agents for non-compliance with ethics and regulations ”.

The club said it was ready to seize the commercial court "if Patrick Glanz does not comply". Contacted, he confirmed to AFP that he had received the formal notice but he refused to speak on the merits of the dispute. Substituted by Jessy Moulin, Stéphane Ruffier will not play the semi-final of the Coupe de France against Rennes, Thursday evening, at Geoffroy-Guichard. It is also unlikely to see him re-established in the league by Puel this season. Funny end of reign…
