The record for the largest raclette in the world was broken this Sunday at the Saint-Étienne exhibition center where 2,236 people gathered to eat kilos of cheese, cold meats and potatoes.

An event launched by Saint-Etienne comedian Chicandier.

We knew the longest rillette sandwich in Le Mans, here is the largest raclette in the world in Saint-Étienne.

The city of the Greens broke a new record by bringing together 2,236 people at the exhibition center on Sunday to taste 620 kg of cheese.

An event launched by Saint-Etienne comedian Jason Chicandier and his accomplice Mathou.

620 kg of cheese and 350 kg of cold meats

To do this, it was necessary to bring together "a ton of potatoes, 620 kg of cheese and 350 kg of cold meats", detailed Maxime Balouzat of the Coïncidence agency, which organized the event, to our colleagues from France Bleu Saint-Étienne Loire.

“I officially announce to you that there are 2,236 of you despite the broken plates and those who are already on the floor,” launched the usher from the stage, we can see on a video published by France Bleu.

“Party simply, without fuss”

For his part, the comedian, well known to the Saint-Etienne residents, was delighted with the scale of the event and hopes to repeat the adventure next year with twice as many place settings.

"It's great, I expected a great success, but not such a spectacular success. For this type of event, the Saint-Etienne public is very warm. I think this city was missing, to simply have a party , without fuss,” he confided.
