Back in this episode to the Scotland-France meeting of January 1, 1913, at the Parc des Princes in Paris. If the hope of a victory exists among the French supporters, the reality is cruel. The XV of the thistle crushes France 21 to 3.

A relentless score that does not please the crowd. For the first time, an international meeting will end in a rush and a fight. The field is invaded by French supporters wanting to do battle with the British referee.

This anger is told by Joris Vincent, lecturer in science and techniques of physical and sports activities at the University of Lille.

The crisis is serious, and leads to a break with Scotland. The litigation ended, a few years later, by the exclusion of France from the tournament.

If you want to know more about this brawling first time, turn on the sound! An episode created and directed by Gilles Durand and François Launay.
