The parents came to Sweden and Umeå from Uganda. Daniel Muzito Bagenda and big brother David quickly found the hockey.

Through games in North America and last year in all Swedish AIK, Muzito-Bagenda chalked up the season for the endgame-inspiring Örebro. Now he is the only one - out of over 400 players - in the dark-skinned SHL.

- Tragic in some way anyway, I must say. The proportion of immigrant backgrounds is greater in football and sometimes I think it is an economic issue or that as an immigrant you do not feel connected to the sport, he says.

He has not known any racism from neither fans nor opponents in the SHL arenas. It was worse at younger ages.

- You have been told the n-word a few times. Go home. But I was born and raised here and am as much Swedish as someone named Svensson or Andersson. Obviously you get sad. It takes on one and goes straight in.

Daniel Muzito Bagenda thinks it is important that the issue is raised and talked about.

- Above all, there should be a change. Being alone dark-skinned in the league ... It feels weird when you think about it. Why should that be so?
