Roxana Maracineanu has decided to take on the issue of sexual violence in skating, and in the sports environment in general, at arm's length. The Minister of Sports announced Monday that she had asked the president of the Federation of ice sports, Didier Gailhaguet, to resign from his post.

The latter is suspected, through accusations against former coach Gilles Beyer released in the press in recent days, to have covered very many stories of sexual violence of which he was aware. "He will have to explain how this individual could end up in the ecosystem," said the minister when the announcement was made.
“A general dysfunction exists within the French Ice Sports Federation (…). In view of the revelations and testimonies that I have been able to gather, Didier Gailhaguet cannot relinquish his moral and personal responsibility, I therefore asked him to assume all his responsibilities and to resign from the post of president of the French Federation of ice sports, "said Roxana Maracineanu on Monday.
