Tokyo Olympic Marathon / Racewalk Establishment of Local Operation Headquarters in Sapporo Organizing Committee December 20, 16:30
To organize the Tokyo Olympic marathon and racewalking next year, the Organizing Committee has newly established a local operation headquarters to be created by Sapporo city and road agency staff and police officers.
The local operation headquarters was set up in one room of a building in Sapporo, and was held on the 20th. Deputy director of the tournament organizing committee Yasuo Mori said “ It ’s very difficult, but I ’d like to join forces to make a great tournament. ”
The local operation headquarters is composed of local government officials such as Sapporo City and the local government, police officers, and employees of private companies. The public and private sectors will work together to prepare for the event's stagnation, such as obtaining consent and securing the means of transportation for athletes and officials.
Mr. Yasunori Ito, who was dispatched from Sapporo, said, “I want to contribute to the success of the tournament by taking advantage of my experience in maintaining city roads and developing a course where athletes do not feel stressed.”
