It was in her second jump at Finnkampen at Stockholm Stadium that the 18-year-old interrupted the approach and ran through the jumping pit as she made her way to the back of the right thigh. Johansson laid down on the running tracks and received immediate treatment with pressure on the injured thigh.

"It's nothing serious and I'll be back on track soon," Johansson wrote a few hours after the injury on Instagram.

It would be a long time before Johansson was back on the track again.

After the injury on August 25, it became rehab and Johansson did not compete until it was time for qualifying in the World Cup last Saturday. Although six weeks have passed, the muscles have not recovered to full strength, but the back of the thighs needs to be strengthened with rehab.

"Will the strength train a few more weeks"

- My physiotherapist says I'm not really done with the back thigh yet, but I have to keep strengthening them up. I will be running with strength training a few more weeks, not so much hope. Then maybe I get a short rest, she tells SVT Halland.

There will be no time for any longer rest after the extremely long season which yielded a personal best of 6.73 and double medals at the U19 European Championships.

- I will start competing indoors in January. Then we have an indoor World Cup in China that I will invest in, ”says Johansson and thinks of the championship in Nanjing March 13-15.
