Sharjah Stars, goalkeeper Adil Al Hosani, Cape Verde player Ryan Mendes and international referee Mohammed Abdullah Hassan were selected as stars for the first week of the network's Sports4all season.
Sport for All confirmed in a press statement that this was done according to the referendum conducted on its official account on the social networking site «Instagram», to choose the best player, and the best goalkeeper, in each of the seven meetings for each round of the Arabian Gulf League, as well as the best Referee in the tour, in addition to the award «star of the public».
She said that the development of the form and elements of the referendum, comes after the experience was a great success last season.
The statement pointed out that the company launched a new name for the referendum entitled «star of the week», to record a distinct presence in the coverage of the news network for the first rounds of the league. The management of the network is based on criteria for the selection of winners using individual numbers through several indicators in each match, provided by «instat» statistics.
The public vote was decided in the first star of the week award for the best player. Sharjah winger Ryan Mendes received 28.3% of the vote, followed by Al Ahli's Brazilian player Leonardo with 24.1%.
Fujairah player Abdullah Saleh was third with 17.9% and Mohammed Al Attas of Al Jazira 12.7%. Later, Khalil Ismail came from Al Wasl, Binel Malaba, a professional federation of Kalba, and William Osso from Ajman, ranked fifth to seventh.
In the category of the best goalkeeper, Adel Al Hosani, Areen goalkeeper Areen, led the league with 28.5% of the vote. The fans of «Sport for All» best international referee award to Mohammed Abdullah Hassan by 60.1%, after he ably managed the Bur Dubai derby between Al Nasr and Al Wasl, ahead of Adel Al Naqbi 30.7% and Ahmed Issa Darwish 12.5%.
The "Star of the Week" will be awarded the "Sport for All" trophy, presented by Eaksports, in addition to a caricature by the Saudi artist Hani Al-Haid, and in-kind prizes from the sponsors.
Among the mass of voters who chose the "Star of the Week", a lottery will be held.
Mendes got 28.3% of the vote in the "Sport for All" referendum of the star of the week.
