The 2019 African Cup of Nations will not be played in Cameroon. The Executive Committee of the African Footbal Confederation has withdrawn the organization of the competition.

Cameroon is withdrawing the organization of the 2019 African Cup of Nations! The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided Friday to withdraw the organization of CAN-2019 in Cameroon, penalized by delays in the progress of preparatory work, announced its president in Accra Ghana.

"Today we made the decision to withdraw CAN-2019 from Cameroon," Ahmad Ahmad told a press conference after more than ten hours of in camera meetings. He added that a "cabinet" would be set up to launch a call for tenders and "to determine a new organizing country by the end of the year" .
