The Swisstech Medical Research Institute, abbreviated as the Swisstech Medical Institute, was completed in 1935 and is an important place for modern medical research in China. The Physiology Branch, the Pathology Branch and the Clinical Research and Experimental Surgery Division have been set up in the Rushed Medical Research Institute, and the famous physiologists Iberne, Cai Qiao, Shen Jichun, and virologist Tang Feifan have been engaged in scientific research here. In 1994, the site of the Swisstech Medical Research Institute was announced as the second batch of outstanding historical buildings in Shanghai.

It is reported that in 1870, NVC established British Commercial Virtue and Foreign Company, leaving architectural heritage such as Sincere Company Building, Zilin Xibao Building, Nissin Building and other architectural heritage for Shanghai, and British Commercial Virtue and Foreign Company became one of the most famous architectural design firms in Shanghai at the beginning of the 20th century.
During the day's activities, guests from all walks of life such as Shanghai culture, history, medicine and architectural culture enthusiasts gathered together to learn about the past and present of this century-old building through guided tours, old photo exhibitions, mini games and other activities. Su Xinbao, an expert in historical building protection, told reporters that the NVC Medical College is mainly modernist style, is a square building, and local details have Art Deco style characteristics, which is an important part of reflecting Shanghai's modern diversified architectural style.
According to reports, the main façade of the NVC Medical College building is in the form of central axis symmetry, the façade shape is simple, and the local components have been geometrically treated with decorative lines. In order to restore the historical appearance of the façade of the building, the repair took corresponding processes according to the degree of pollution damage of different parts and materials, and tried to retain the original traces and vicissitudes, and at the same time achieve the overall harmony of the façade.
The former site of the R&D Medical Research Institute is now part of United Family Hospital (Jing'an Campus). In the future, UFH will undertake some of the repair tasks. Wu Qinan, CEO of United Family Healthcare, told reporters that in the future, on the basis of protecting the cultural heritage of historical buildings, the NVC Medical Research Institute will be renovated, inherit the academic exchange function of this century-old building, integrate the current space demand for international medical academic exchanges, build this place into an international medical exchange center, and strive to create a new benchmark for medical services in Jing'an District, so that NVC's "medical road for good" doctors can be inherited.
