Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday sang a song in front of a crowd of supporters who gathered near his home in Istanbul after declaring him the winner of the second round of the presidential election.

In the Uskudar region, Erdogan and his wife Amina climbed a bus balcony and sang some of the lyrics: "To those who hear... And for those who do not hear... We tell them we love you."

In his speech during the occasion, Erdogan said, "We extend our sincere thanks to the noble Turkish people, we lovers of Istanbul with it have started our journey and with it we will continue," adding, "I thank my people, who gave me the opportunity to take responsibility towards them for 5 years."

Earlier, Erdogan won a new five-year term after receiving 5.52% of the vote in the presidential run-off, while his rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu received 87.47%, after 13% of the votes were counted, according to preliminary results.
