American actor and former wrestler Dwayne Johnson known as "The Rock" and young actor Tom Holland in the role of Spider-Man spoke about the psychological problems they suffered during their lives, joining a long list of actors and stars who spoke transparently about their inner pain that contradicts the ideal image of them.

Marvel movie star Holland has spoken on previous occasions about the importance of mental health care, including in August 2022 when he announced his abandonment of social media and talked about the negative impact of reading negative comments on various online platforms.

Tom Holland. A new series that woke up a sleeping pain

Tom Holland recently talked about his role in the series "The Crowded Room" on Apple TV, which negatively affected his mental health, and said in an interview with the site "EW" (EW) "I know the physical aspects of the job I do, as action movies require, for example, but I was surprised by the psychological effects and took a long time to recover from them and return again to reality."

Holland pointed out that it was difficult for him to separate himself from the character he presents in the series, which made him suffer from a "simple psychological breakdown" and thought about cutting his hair in order to get rid of the appearance of the character, but he could not do this in the middle of filming, and he had to deal with the dramatic character differently to get rid of its dominant influence.

The actor credits fellow actress Sasha Lane with helping him get through some difficult moments as well as talking to psychologists who gave him the tools to identify triggers and things that stress him.

Based on a true story, "The Minds of Billy Milligan" is based on the 1981 novel The Minds of Billy Milligan, and tells Danny Sullivan/Tom Holland, a shy and antisocial teenager from New York State who was arrested after shooting at the Rockefeller Center in 1979. Through a series of discussions with investigator Rhea Goodwin/Amanda Seyfried, Danny came to a better understanding of his mental state, the relationships in his life, and the tragic events that led to what he did.

The series stars "Emmy Rossum" (Emmy Rossum) in the role of Danny's mother in addition to Tom Holland and Amanda Seyfried, and the first three episodes of it will be shown on "Apple TV" on the ninth of next June, and the next seven episodes will be broadcast weekly after that.

Dwayne Johnson The superpower of fighting depression

Dwayne Johnson has never shyed away from showing his strength on screen, but now the former professional wrestler is showing his strength in a different way, he recently talked about his experiences with depression and urged everyone to be honest about their mental health, and confirmed that his struggles with his mental health began years ago, but he didn't always have the words to express how he feels.

Johnson recently appeared on the Pivot podcast in which he revealed that he was suffering from depression for the first time when he suffered a shoulder injury that ended his American football career: "I didn't want to go to school, the interesting thing about the time, was that I didn't know what I was going through, I didn't know what mental health was, I didn't know what depression was. I just knew I didn't want to get that again."

The Rock noted that he had a second bout of depression after his divorce, and then sought help and realized the nature of what he was going through.

The Black Adam star shared a clip from his interview on Instagram and encouraged followers in a similar situation to seek help.

"I have worked hard over the years to acquire the emotional tools to deal with any mental pain that may come to my test," Johnson wrote. But years ago I didn't know what mental health was experiencing. If you're going to move to your own version of mental wellness and get rid of mental hell, the most important thing you can do is talk to someone. The situation cannot be repaired if you keep this pain inside. Having the courage to talk to someone is your superpower. I lost two of my friends to suicide. Talk to someone. Despite how you may feel, you're never alone."

Dwayne Johnson and Tom Holland preceded actress Angelina Jolie in talking about her psychological and mental troubles, which went so far as to hire a professional killer to end her life at some point in her life, before retracting this idea. These experiences highlight the importance of mental health education.
