Children and young people are unhappy in school to a record extent.

In the report "Schoolchildren's health habits in Sweden 2021/2022", the Public Health Agency of Sweden states that school stress has increased since 2010 for both girls and boys aged 13 and 15. In addition, student cohesion has gradually deteriorated at the same time as more and more people are bullied.

In addition, the agency points out more areas where there is "a particularly worrying development". Among other things, the use of alcohol and snus is increasing and more and more young people report that they have health problems or a disability.

"No one to talk to"

Figures on schoolchildren's health habits in Sweden in 2021/2022 are the worst since 1985 when the study started. For example, only nine percent of 13-year-old girls say they like school very much.

"There are a lot of guys who take up more space and then the girls end up a little behind," says Lilly Almquist.

What would be done to make more people enjoy school?

– More teachers in the corridors to talk to. Many people probably feel that they have no one to talk to, says Elna Hedenlund.
