The alarm about the fire was received at 14.31. According to SOS, it should first have been received as an automatic alarm, but then callers from the scene also said that there was smoke visible in a gate at the factory.
According to SVT's reporter on site, there is a large presence at the battery factory with over ten cars and a ladder truck from the emergency services.
– We have an ongoing fire alarm where there is smoke development on one floor of one of the production buildings. We have no reports of injuries and the evacuation of the area has been completed, says Sanna Bäckström at Northvolt's press department.
According to Bäckström, the emergency services are currently investigating the extent of the smoke development together with staff from the factory.
"But we still don't know where the fire is burning and are currently searching for the cause of the fire.
