In February, Ivanov volunteered for the special operation zone, served in the Wagner PMC, Konovalov said.

The deputy is survived by a widow and five children.

The head of the region said that he personally knew Ivanov as an honest and principled person.

Earlier it became known that a journalist from St. Petersburg, Denis Semyonov, who went to the zone of a special military operation as a volunteer, died while performing a combat mission.

At the end of March, the head of the Blagodarnensky urban district of the Stavropol Territory, Alexander Tenkov, announced the death of a participant in the special operation, Hero of Russia Dmitry Lissitzky.
