This was stated by Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with Russian media.
He noted that in the Avdeevka area there were serious fortifications and protective structures.
“Therefore, it was a difficult task, but our armed forces coped with it brilliantly,” RIA Novosti quotes Medvedev.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the complete taking of Avdeevka under control with minimal losses.
Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov, presented awards in the special military operation zone to military personnel who distinguished themselves during the liberation of Avdeevka in the DPR.
