It was after an analysis result this week that the police became aware of the drug. These are analysed tramadol preparations that have been shown to contain a significantly stronger substance. Morgan Tärning says that it is not possible to say how many cases there are due to the confidentiality of the preliminary investigation.

"We choose to say a number of deaths in different places in Skaraborg with people of varying ages," he says.

"Get it off the streets"

He continues that what makes the drug so dangerous is that the user may think that you are taking something else, but is that it is a much stronger preparation that you get.

"We know that alcohol and tramadol are a common combination in overdoses, and if you get an even stronger tramadol, it leads to death," says Morgan Tärning.

The police are now actively working to collect tips and are investigating in various circles where the drug comes from.

"The most important thing now is to get it off the streets so that we don't have any more deaths.
