  • Events The squatted 'narco-locker rooms' of San Blas that terrify the neighbors: "There are lines of 100 people to buy drugs"

New violent incident in the

drug stores

on Calle de los Tejedores in the Madrid district of San Blas, reported for months by neighbors due to the insecurity it causes in the neighborhood. Yesterday afternoon there was a brutal fight at the door of this building occupied by dealers selling hashish and cocaine.

A 36-year-old North African man, who is supposedly involved in selling drugs, was seriously injured

after being hit on the head with a paving stone by another person during a fight.

The attacker is a 19-year-old Venezuelan young man who, presumably, had gone to acquire a dose of drugs. Due to a retail issue, a fight began between the two that ended with both of them with serious injuries. The Venezuelan citizen

hit the North African citizen on the head several times with a cobblestone after being attacked with a knife

, according to police sources.

The brawl ended with the Maghrebi camel seriously injured with a head injury.

He was treated by Samur and transferred to the Gregorio Marañón Hospital

. For his part, the Venezuelan citizen had a cut on the back of his neck and he was also evacuated by Samur to the Ramón y Cajal hospital. Both injured people were detained by the Police.

This episode of violence is the daily life that the residents of the neighborhood have experienced since seven months ago,

the locker rooms of some sports fields were squatted by some North African citizens who are dedicated to selling drugs.

The building is located a few meters from the San Blas police station.

Construction of the changing room block began about four years ago so that slope users could change and shower. However, it was never released and since last summer it has been occupied by a group of North Africans who

are dedicated to trafficking heroin, cocaine base and hashish, according to the neighbors.

In addition, they have electricity due to illegal hooking on streetlights of the Madrid City Council.

Desperate neighbors

Residents are desperate due to the conflict and insecurity generated by this narco-squatter. They have been constantly reporting

fights, robberies and queues of up to 100 drug addicts

at the door of

drug stores

waiting to buy their drug doses.

"Our complaints fall on deaf ears, they are opening cars, they are walking around freely and we are tired of calling the police," says a neighbor who assures that the

North African camels have their own security with

water carriers

and

machacas

who warn the sellers in the case of detecting the presence of the Police.

«The problems are growing by leaps and bounds. This seems like a lost war and there are people who live in rent who have already changed apartments," adds one of the residents of the area.

Neighbors report that they are tired of calling the police every time an incident occurs. «The agents tell us that they can't do anything. "That they are aware of what is happening and that we continue to insist," says another person who describes that this same week one of the dealers hit another with a saw and that

several people robbed a drunk man and beat him,

and everything a few meters from the

drug locker room

and the National Police station. "This is scary,

we are going back to the 80s again

and this is getting out of hand," says another man.

The vice mayor of Madrid and delegate for Security and Emergencies, Inma Sanz, said at the end of January that

the City Council was going to give a "comprehensive" response to the increasingly critical reality of these squatted

drug locker rooms

.

She added that the "specific" situation had to do "with other types of social realities, so the problem will be addressed from the point of view of security, but also addictions." Vox has asked for the evacuation of the facilities and for families in need of social assistance to be attended to.
