Applause broke out in Kungsgårdsskolan's sports hall when the last prize of the day was handed out: Four inventions were named Best in Show by a jury from Ängelholm's business community. One of the winning innovations is Felix Forsberg and Gustav Lundahl from class 6B at Villanskolan.

They call their company Motus Energy – an energy solution where electricity is created using inclined magnets attached to a wheel.

"It can be used for everything from charging your mobile phone to heating a house," says Felix Forsberg.

How did you come up with the idea?

"We lay there thinking about what the world needs," says Felix Forsberg.

"The world needs a lot of energy to function in 2023, especially now that it is so expensive, we need more energy sources," adds Gustav Lundahl.

Got a taste for more – wants to be an engineer

It is students from year 6 or 7 at four of the schools in the municipality who have recently been taught to think like innovators, entrepreneurs, designers and marketers of their own inventions. The project ended with the Innovis fair where the students themselves exhibited and sold their products to three different jury groups, who chose their favorites.

For Felix and Gustav, the project has given them a taste for more. They want to become engineers and work on their product.

– We think that it will be like solar panels, that people will have it at home, says Gustav Lundahl.

"Maybe we should develop this more and maybe create a company to build other things with magnets.
