The State Department announced the intention of the United States to destroy its chemical arsenals by spring

This was announced during a briefing by US Undersecretary of State for Arms Control Bonnie Jenkins.

“I want to note that later this year, in the spring, the United States will complete the destruction of its chemical weapons,” RIA Novosti quotes her.

In December, Russia's permanent representative to the OPCW, Alexander Shulgin, said the United States was dragging its feet on the process of eliminating its chemical weapons arsenal.
