The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the suppression of new attempts by Kyiv to carry out attacks on Russian territory using drones.

“Duty air defense systems intercepted a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle over the territory of the Kursk region, five UAVs were destroyed over the territories of the Bryansk (three UAVs) and Tula (two UAVs) regions,” the department said.

The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, clarified that there were no casualties or destruction as a result of the emergency.

Similar information was reported by the Ministry of Regional Security of the Tula Region.

The day before, the Ministry of Defense also informed about the suppression of several attempts at drone attacks.

Thus, on the morning of March 6, the department announced a series of UAV interceptions over the Belgorod, Kursk and Voronezh regions.

In addition, on the same day, the Ministry of Defense announced a high-precision missile strike on a hangar in the industrial port area of ​​Odessa.

According to the department, preparations were carried out at the facility for the combat use of unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As the Ministry of Defense emphasized, the goal of the strike was achieved and the object was successfully hit.

In addition, a Su-30 fighter from the air defense forces on duty prevented the violation of the state border by an RC-135 electronic reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft and two Typhoon multirole fighters of the British Air Force.

Shoigu checked the implementation of state defense orders by Almaz-Antey enterprises

On March 6, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, checked the progress of the state defense order by the enterprises of the Almaz-Antey concern.

Among other things, the minister was told that the enterprise had created new means of combating UAVs, which are currently undergoing factory tests.

The minister was presented with a mobile guidance point for hitting air targets and the latest models of counter-battery radar stations, the production of which will be successfully launched in 2023.

Following the inspection of the enterprise, Shoigu said that air defense systems are very important in the current conditions.

“This applies to both radar and weapons.

Moreover, the range of weapons against which air defense systems must work is expanding every day,” said Sergei Shoigu.

In this regard, he mentioned the advent of FPV drones, UAVs of longer range and greater power, as well as the presence of HIMARS systems and other weapons in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Naturally, we need to decide how to defend ourselves against all this.

All this is done by your enterprises,” Shoigu said.

Attacks on military infrastructure

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense spoke about systematic measures to destroy Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities that produce drones.

In a summary of the progress of the military-industrial complex for the period from February 24 to March 1, it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces carried out 23 group strikes with high-precision weapons on objects of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, where reconnaissance and strike UAVs were produced.

Arsenals and bases of fuel and lubricants for military equipment were also hit.

Strikes were also carried out against the deployment of units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, nationalist formations and foreign mercenaries.

All designated targets were hit.

Also in the report of the Russian defense department it was noted that air defense systems in a week shot down two Storm Shadow cruise missiles, four JDAM guided aerial bombs, 35 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, as well as 639 unmanned aerial vehicles.
