Jakob Hedenskog points out that 2.9 million Ukrainians have been received as refugees in Russia since the war began, according to the UN agency UNHCR's statistics.

But the number also includes those who were brought there by force, such as talented Ukrainian students.

In addition to the propaganda purpose, the approach shows how the Russian leadership, as well as large parts of the population, do not regard Ukraine as a nation and that Ukrainians do not have the right to their own state, Hedenskog states.

Russian Far East

Jakob Hedenskog says that many of the children who have been abducted are deported to the Russian Far East and Siberia, this so that they will end up as far away from Ukraine as possible and further complicate their contact with family and relatives.

Can you see anything that justifies bringing these children to Russia?

That they would be orphanage children or have lost contact with their relatives?

- Absolutely not.

It is to be considered a war crime and a potential crime of genocide.

Just abducting children is named by the UN Genocide Commission as one of the actions that constitute genocide.
