Kobane is controlled by the Kurdish group People's Defense Units and on Saturday evening AFP reports on Turkish airstrikes against the city.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has on numerous occasions expressed threats against the terrorist-labeled Kurdish organization PKK, which has a strong foothold in Northern Syria.
Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said after the attack in Istanbul, in which six people died, that the woman suspected of being behind the attack received her order from Kobane.
