Xi Jinping wins presidency of the CPC Central Committee

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, sent a cable of congratulations to the President of the friendly People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on the occasion of his re-election for a third term as Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, a similar congratulatory message to President Xi Jinping.

Yesterday, Chinese President Xi Jinping obtained a historic third term at the head of the Communist Party, according to the official Chinese news agency, which paves the way for him to be officially installed at the head of the Chinese state for a new term in March 2023.

Upon receiving a new five-year mandate from the new Central Committee, Xi Jinping pledged to "work hard to get the tasks done," thanking the whole Party for the trust he had shown.

"China cannot develop without the world, and the world also needs China," said Xi Jinping, who was also appointed to a new term at the head of the Chinese armed forces, in a speech to the press at the People's Palace.

Within a decade, the Chinese president succeeded in transforming China into the second economic power in the world and forming an army that is one of the most powerful in the world. He said, "After more than 40 years of unremitting efforts for reform and opening up, we have achieved two miracles: rapid economic development and long-term social stability."

The Chinese Communist Party concluded its 20th congress, the day before yesterday, after a week of deliberations in closed sessions, with the renewal of 65% of the members of the Central Committee, which is the party's internal parliament, according to estimates by Agence France-Presse.

During their first meeting yesterday morning, the 205 Central Committee members, including 11 women, appointed the 25 representatives to the Politburo (the decision body of the Communist Party of China), and the Politburo selected the new Standing Committee led by Xi Jinping.

Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his warmest congratulations to the Chinese president, and said in a statement issued by the Kremlin: "I will be happy to continue our constructive dialogue and close joint work aimed at strengthening international partnership relations and strategic cooperation between our two countries," wishing the Chinese president new successes, health and prosperity.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un also extended his "warmest congratulations" to the Chinese president, saying, "Together, we will create a splendid future for relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and China, in order to meet the requirements of the times," according to the official North Korean News Agency.
