"Zayed" .. a precious name for the Egyptians

The association of the name of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, with Egypt, and his immortal biography among its people, as well as the size of the humanitarian and urban projects that were associated with his name, reflects the strength and strength of the relations between the Egyptian and Emirati peoples.

The overwhelming presence of the name "Sheikh Zayed" in Egypt during the seventies until now is the biggest evidence of that fact, as he named his name on many cities, main streets and projects, and even on the names of Egyptian newborns as well, out of love and appreciation for his person and his influential positions.

The Sheikh Zayed Canal project was implemented in 1997 to transfer the Nile waters to the desert lands in the “Toshka” area, to convert them into agricultural lands, and work projects for animal production, which contributes to creating a new delta in southern Egypt in the desert areas, after adding 540 thousand acres to the agricultural area.

The Abu Dhabi government allocated $100 million as a grant ordered by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, to implement the project.

There are three hospitals in Egypt bearing the name "Sheikh Zayed": the first of which is Sheikh Zayed Specialized Hospital in 6th of October City. It was built more than 15 years ago, and now includes 200 beds, one of the largest organ transplant centers in Egypt, a center for surgery, women, children, premature babies and dialysis. There is also an accident reception department at the highest level serving all cases.

By all medical standards, the hospital is considered one of the best hospitals in Egypt and competes with investment hospitals. It provides free services to those who are unable, and has a free entire floor, and the rest of the hospital departments provide services for a symbolic fee.

As for the second hospital, it is located in the Mansha’at Nasser neighborhood, and was opened in 2013 with funding from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development at a cost of 130 million dirhams. It has 150 beds.

As for the third hospital that bears the name of the late;

It is Sheikh Zayed Central Hospital.

In late 2015, the South Sinai Governorate Council decided to name one of the most important vital streets in Sharm El-Sheikh, after Sheikh Zayed, which starts from the airport area and reaches the heart of the city.

In the seventies of the last century, the name "Zayed" spread widely in Egyptian homes, as many Egyptian families preferred to give the name to newborns in appreciation and homage to Sheikh Zayed and his great role in supporting the country.
