At least

three people have died and another seven have been injured

of varying degrees in a traffic accident recorded this afternoon in the Caravaca district of La Almudena (Murcia Region).

The single Emergency telephone number '1-1-2' received several calls, around 7:00 p.m., reporting the incident and indicating that the only vehicle involved

was a van with field workers returning from their workday,

which had fallen down a ravine

After the call, patrols from the Civil Guard, firefighters from the Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium (CEIS) of the Region of Murcia, with

nine troops and four vehicles

, two Mobile Emergency Units and five ambulances from the Management of Urgencies and Emergencies 061.

The seven injured,

once they have been treated 'in situ'

, have been transferred to the Regional Hospital of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Rafael Méndez de Lorca Hospital.
