  • Farm This is the Colmenar Viejo farm where Martínez-Almeida and Teresa Urquijo will celebrate their wedding

  • Wedding list The wedding list of Almeida and Teresa Urquijo valued at 85,000 euros: from an Afghan rug to some coasters

  • Long live the couples! Almeida and Teresa: from an unrepentant bachelor to a bodon of stale ancestry: "She is very generous. She does not seek fame"

And Pepito finally got married. This is what they affectionately call the mayor of Madrid,

José Luis Martínez-Almeida

, his family and friends, the same ones who were not betting on him finally passing through the altar.

Pepito abandons the singleness that has haunted him so much

and to which he was "almost resigned." The city of Madrid is focused from the early hours of this Saturday, April 6, on the

wedding of its councilor with Teresa Urquijo

.

A crowd of journalists has gathered at the doors of the

church of San Francisco de Borja

to witness at least a few minutes of the wedding of the year. As happens in this type of event, some clueless curious person usually asks: 'Who's getting married?' Not in the case of Almeida. The neighbors who come near the church know perfectly well who the link belongs to.

Martínez-Almeida arrived at the church for his wedding with Teresa Urquijo at 11:30 am

. He has done it very well combed and smiling among shouts of Long live the mayor! Long live the groom! and Bullfighter! The councilor has been very kind to the media and to all the people who have come to receive him and has left a great statement:

"Without a doubt it is the happiest day of my life!"

The guests at the wedding

From 10:50 in the morning, the guests of the wedding of the year are paraded in front of the church of San Francisco de Borja. One of the first to arrive was

Esperanza Aguirre

along with her husband, with an impressive headdress. Also

Alberto Ruiz Gallardón

and his wife.

Then it was the turn of

Álvarez del Manzano

, who, very friendly, answered the journalists' questions.

Victoria López Quesada

is also in the temple

, who will pass through the altar in September. She is the girl whom Froilán kicked at the wedding of the current kings.

As a curiosity, the arrival of

Cuca Gamarra

has been celebrated with

applause from those present

. The president of the Region of Murcia,

Fernando López Miras

, has also captured everyone's attention,

who remains the

only golden bachelor

among the ranks of the PP.

A pedigree wedding

The forecasts indicated that there would be such a crowd of people that the mother of the bride, Beatriz Moreno, would have to go out

to the door of the temple to say "if you love me, leave"

like Lola Flores on the day of her daughter's wedding. Lolita. Finally, not so many neighbors have come to the temple, although things have gotten livelier as the morning progressed.

This link has much more pedigree than Lolita's, although surely the one with La Faraona's daughter was more fun.

Or not. Because they say about the mayor that "she has a lot of energy."

From being a bachelor and the usual target of jokes about his marital status, Almeida has become the respected husband of a young woman belonging to one of the most illustrious families in the capital. In the church of Los Jesuitas, as the temple they have chosen to get married is popularly known, there has been a packed parade of politicians, aristocrats and regulars of the tabloids in general.

The bride's family

Teresa Urquijo

, 27, is an investment analyst at the real estate company Merlin Properties. She belongs to two of the most ancient families in our country. She is the daughter of Lucas Urquijo Fernández de Araoz, who was Roche's Communications Director.

The bride's father is the son of Jaime Urquijo y Chacón,

knight of the Sacred and Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, former president of Energy and Aragonese Industries and vice president of Tabacalera, and Carmen Fernández de Araoz Marañón, granddaughter of the doctor and scientist Gregorio Marañón and known as Piru Urquijo, one of the great ladies of Madrid's high society.

Teresa's mother is Beatriz Moreno y de Borbón, daughter of Íñigo Moreno de Arteaga, doctor in History and Marquis of Laserna, and Princess Teresa de Borbón-Two Sicilies and Borbón-Parma. Teresa's maternal grandmother is the daughter of Infante Alfonso and Princess Alicia of Borbón-Parma and cousin of Don Juan Carlos.

She is one of the most important and prestigious purebred horse breeders

with her Yeguada Flor de Lis.

After the religious celebration of the wedding, the bride and groom and all the guests will travel to El Canto de La Cruz, a farm owned by Teresa's maternal grandparents. Located at the foot of the Sierra de Guadarrama in

Colmenar Viejo,

about 30 kilometers from Madrid, El Canto de la Cruz has impressive facilities to enjoy the celebration.
