• 8:02 a.m.: The Queen's coffin will be transported through Scotland

Three days after her death in her Scottish castle of Balmoral, Queen Elizabeth II begins her last journey on Sunday.

His coffin leaves Balmoral for Edinburgh, before his solemn return to London on Tuesday for his state funeral on September 19.

The royal hearse is due to leave Balmoral, the residence where the monarch loved to spend the summer, at 10 a.m. (9 a.m. GMT) by road, to arrive in the Scottish capital around 4 p.m. (3 p.m. GMT) after a journey of nearly 300 kilometers.

The royal hearse will stop in the village of Ballater, then in Aberdeen and Dundee, before reaching Edinburgh.

The coffin will spend the night there in the throne room of Holyroodhouse, the official royal residence in Scotland.
