The police - intervened after a phone call to the emergency number - found five bodies inside a house: three children, aged 10, 12 and 13, a woman and a man.

The victims - found in different parts of the house - had gunshot wounds. 

The phone call, which arrived at 9.19 in the morning, reported the death of a woman and three children.

The agents also found a fifth body, an adult man with a gun beside him.

He may have been the author of the massacre.

“It's a terrible day for our community,” said Scott Adams, sheriff of Cecil County, an area of ​​100,000 inhabitants on the Pennsylvania border.

Hours after the discovery, the police have not yet provided details.
