Prime Minister Kishida and U.S. President Biden held a teleconference on the situation in Ukraine with the leaders of eight countries. We agreed to work together.

The video conference was called by President Biden of the United States, and was held for about an hour from the late night of the 8th to the dawn of the 9th in Japan time, including Prime Minister Kishida, G7 = 7 major countries excluding France, together with the leaders. Leaders from eight countries participated.



During the meeting, they exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, and agreed to continue strong sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine, as well as to work together to ensure a stable supply of energy and food.



In addition, Prime Minister Kishida explained the recent trends of Russia in the Indo-Pacific region and conveyed his recognition that it is important to reach out to countries that are in the middle position. He introduced that the participating countries confirmed their serious concerns about Russia's military aggression.



In addition, Prime Minister Kishida touched on Japan's presidency of the G7 next year, and conveyed his determination to promote unity among G7 countries and like-minded countries in dealing with the situation in Ukraine.
