Al Jalila Foundation celebrated the graduation of 70 new trainees as part of the eighth batch of the “Ta’alouf” training program, which aims to provide teachers in public and private schools with the skills necessary to empower children of determination. The program contributed to making a difference in the lives of 231 students of determination directly and enriching the experiences of 11,700 students indirectly in the UAE, as part of Al Jalila Foundation’s efforts to improve the lives of individuals through innovation in the medical fields.

The teacher training program was launched in partnership with Zayed University and supported by the Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority.

The programme, which was presented in both English and Arabic, was attended by teachers from all over the Emirates of more than 12 nationalities, 70% of whom are UAE nationals.

Abdul Karim Sultan Al Olama, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, said, “The completion of the eighth batch of our training program is another milestone in our commitment to achieving social inclusion.” He continued, “We are working with Zayed University to make permanent contributions to enrich educational practices that meet the needs of special students.”

He added, "We will continue to implement this program in our classrooms, in the playgrounds, and in our communities so that every child has the opportunity to fulfill himself, regardless of his needs."

The comprehensive training program includes monthly training sessions, in addition to participation in professional learning groups and individual mentorship sessions. Participants are also required to present their portfolio before graduation.

A total of 32 initiatives have been implemented in schools across the Emirates to promote the principle of inclusion in the school community.

The initiatives also included awareness sessions for students, parents and teachers, in addition to friend programs and a number of other initiatives aimed at improving the learning experience of children of determination.

Since launching the program in 2014, with the support of partners and donors, Al Jalila Foundation has invested three million dirhams to provide teachers with the necessary knowledge to empower children of determination and help them achieve their ambitions and enhance their potential.
