This is reported by TASS with reference to the statement of the service in social networks.

“This Monday, July 18, many absolute temperature records have been broken,” the weather service noted.

The statement cites as an example data from 12 cities in the country where a historical temperature record was broken.

So, in the commune of Biscarrosse, the weather station, opened in 1965, recorded +42.6 ° C, which is almost a degree higher than the historical record recorded in June of this year.

The maximum temperature of +42.4 °C was recorded in the village of Kazo, a few kilometers from which there is a large forest fire.

Such hot weather in these places has not been recorded in the entire history of observations since 1921.

Other records were recorded in Nantes - +42 °С, La Roche-sur-Yon - +41.4 °С, Cholet - +41.2 °С, etc.

It is noted that the data recorded as of 18:00 Moscow time are preliminary.

Earlier it was reported that since the extremely hot weather set in Spain on July 10, 360 people have died due to high temperatures in the country.
