Ambassador Antonov called the suspension of Russia's status as an observer in the OAS a mistake

The ambassador's comment is given in the Telegram channel of the Russian embassy.

“We consider the adoption of today's resolution a serious mistake.

The task of any international structure is to unite states in solving pressing problems, of which there are more than enough in the region,” Antonov noted.

As noted, "Russia gave all its strength and capabilities to achieving the goals of the OAS."

Antonov stressed that Russia's Latin American partners "are under unprecedented pressure from the United States and its satellites."

Earlier it was reported that a bipartisan group of US senators sent a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken calling for Russia to be stripped of its permanent observer status at the Organization of American States in connection with the events in Ukraine.
