Congress delays vote on Biden's massive social plan

The US Congress on Friday postponed the vote on President Joe Biden's giant social and climate plan, contrary to expectations, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced.

Pelosi told reporters that after weeks of negotiations, congressional Democrats were still negotiating details of the plan, adding that she hoped to vote on it "before the Thanksgiving holiday," which falls on November 25.

Despite this, Pelosi hoped the House of Representatives would vote on Biden's other $1,200 billion investment plan to develop the country's aging infrastructure.

But the progressive wing of the Democratic Party has repeatedly warned that it will not support this plan unless it is preceded by the adoption of Biden's social and climate plan.
