Despite a favorable vote by the US Senate for $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, the House of Representatives, with a Republican majority, is still blocking support and using it as a political argument to directly oppose the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

kyiv is still hanging on the decision of the US Congress for new military aid.

The Senate did vote for a $60 billion aid plan, but it is blocked by the House of Representatives with a Republican majority, which is using it as a political argument to oppose Joe Biden.

Joe Biden's administration regularly assures Ukraine of its support, but this new American military aid of 60 billion dollars still cannot be validated, for which the American president called on parliamentarians to approve this financing at the most quickly, “before it’s too late”.

“This is the time to prove that the United States is committed to freedom and does not submit to anyone,” said Joe Biden.

The return of “America first” does not please everyone

The great return of "America first", is defended by Donald Trump and his most fervent supporters in Congress, such as Mike Johnson, the Republican President of the House of Representatives who refuses to vote on the Senate aid plan, supported by Joe Biden.

Political maneuvers which are beginning to weigh on certain elected officials, as Republican representative Ken Buck explains on CNN: "It would be a heavy burden for any Republican candidate to hold responsible for the significant number of deaths that there will be , if Russia takes over all of Ukraine.”

The Democrats still hope to rally these dissident voices to attempt a forceful passage in the House.

On the Senate side, we are also putting pressure on: a delegation led by its Democratic President Chuck Schumer was in Ukraine a few days ago to assure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he could “always count on the United States”.

“You defend Europe and you defend the honor and strength of the United States. We believe in you.”

There is urgency, but we will still have to wait: the House of Representatives is on vacation.
